Qigong is the ancient Chinese art of cultivating life force energy. Qi means “energy” and Gong means to “work” so Qigong is the practice of skillfully working with the energy in the body.
In this workshop, you’ll learn the basic principles of Chinese medicine and how to apply them with breathing exercises, gentle stretches, self-massage and flowing movements which are accessible to all bodies and ages.
The practice relieves stress and becomes a moving meditation through the connection of mind, breath, body postures & slow movements. Qigong is designed to not only yield physical health benefits, but also result in a greater sense of ease in the mind-body and self-confidence.

Lauren fell in love with Qigong during the pandemic while searching online for a stress-relieving movement and meditation practice that she could do at home. She enrolled in the Holden Qigong Teacher Training after just a few months of practice because it lifted her mood and energy levels so profoundly. Before that, she taught Pilates in Monmouth County and owned a small fitness studio in Jersey City. She holds certifications in Pilates, yoga, self-myofascial release techniques and has extensive training in injury prevention and rehab. Lauren aims to inspire others to incorporate mindfulness practices into everyday life.
